A seasoned educator and business manager, Dr. Richardson excels as the owner of Jerusalem Data Services, LLC, which provides IT and development services for nonprofits as well as curriculum research and accreditation consulting services for educational institutions.
Additionally, he leverages his considerable experience in social and technical data analysis, and education as an independent researcher for The Small Jewish Community Project, an assistant professor for Piedmont Virginia Community College, and as the Assistant Director for the National Marriage Project. Over the years, Dr. Richardson also served as an engagement specialist for The Tikvah Fund and the Tikvah Institute for High School Students as well as the Director of Small Community Outreach for the Jewish National Fund USA, through which he worked with a committee of volunteers to cultivate new donors, coordinate local events, and increase Israel awareness and advocacy.
During the early stages of his career, Dr. Richardson honed his IT skills as a full-stack developer for Nabisco, Kraft Foods. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services. He later gained valuable expertise as a senior information technology auditor for the University of Virginia. An expert in his field, Dr. Richardson holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Middle East Studies from the University of Southern California, a Master of Divinity in Hebrew Bible and Judaic Studies from Denver Seminary, a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Connecticut, and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Virginia.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Richardson aligns himself with the Association for the Sociology of Religion, the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, and the Association for Jewish Studies. Outside of his work, he further contributes to his community through local synagogues, the Jewish Heritage Alliance, and Yad Ezra V'Shulamiut. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge and experience, Dr. Richardson has contributed to several publications, including "The Generational Transmission of Jewish Values in Small Communities: The Utility of Magic of Thinking Small" and "Returning Jewish Education to the Jewish Home," which was presented at the Tikvah Fund Workshop.
Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Richardson takes the most pride in the impact that he has had on his students. Throughout his career, he has received letters from former students thanking him for his advice. Within the next five to ten years, Dr. Richardson intends to obtain a role with an organization that will allow him to leave a lasting impact on Jewish communities across America.
