While attending college at Nebraska Christian College, he began building houses and working on high-end development projects, and he later relocated to the South Dakota Black Hills to construct log homes. Inspired to provide more personalized attention to his customers and to deliver a higher level of service, Mr. Schmitt founded Big Pine Construction in 2017.
Of Mr. Schmitt's many career accomplishments, he is proudest of a particularly breathtaking, 4,000-square-foot home that he constructed in Lead, South Dakota. Outside of work, Mr. Schmitt is active as a worship pastor at his church, and he spends his free time rock climbing, snowboarding, and listening to music.
