LUBBOCK, TX, January 18, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kristi Renee Laverty has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Laverty, a leading expert in municipal projects for the water resources sector, has devoted her career to Parkhill, Smith & Cooper Inc. (now Parkhill) as a senior associate, civil engineer, and member of the firm's water resources practice since 2008. Specializing in areas like pipelines, water and sewer lines, water wells, water tanks, pump stations, and lift stations, she is responsible for project management, which involves spearheading the implementation of innovative processes and ensuring clear communication amongst team members.

During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Laverty spent two years with the Texas Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. Once she joined Parkhill, she became involved in solid waste permitting and reporting, followed by participation in a water and sewer community-building project. More recently, Ms. Laverty headed a revitalization project in 2016 in a small town north of Lubbock, Texas, which faced various economic challenges. As the client manager, she began implementing an industrial and business park, encompassing lot layouts and installing water and sewer utilities and essential roadways. Consequently, Ms. Laverty helped boost the economy with new businesses.

As a dedicated civil advocate, Ms. Laverty is a member of the Lubbock City Council's Appointments Advisory Board and a board member of the Volunteer Services Council for the Lubbock State School.

Ms. Laverty graduated from Texas Tech University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. She holds credentials as a professional engineer. As part of her continued commitments to her field, Ms. Laverty is a professional member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Member and Communications Chair for the South Plains Chapter Board of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.

The Engineering News-Record recognized Ms. Laverty with a Texas and Louisiana Texas Top Young Professionals Award in 2023 based on her industry experience and education, career and industry leadership, and community service and involvement.

Drawing inspiration from her husband, a structural engineer at her firm, she is also grateful for having such a remarkable network of support at her firm. Looking ahead, Ms. Laverty aims to continue excelling and achieve long-term growth and leadership at Parkhill. She also maintains a sense of obligation as an engineer to promote the many opportunities in the mathematics and science sectors to other females.
