With more than two decades of excellence in early childhood education, Ms. Bartashnik has earned distinction as the owner and director of Steps to Success III. Since 2009, she has focused her efforts on providing a caring and nurturing environment for the children. She is also working on creating professional development series aimed at daycares and schools, exploring emotional intelligence and cognitive development in children, and integrating these elements into their teacher training. She manages the daily operations of the company while providing guidance to teachers and parents, offering interventions and behavioral modification strategies in the classroom.
Before the establishment of Steps to Success III, Ms. Bartashnik served as a classroom teacher for the Department of Education in 2002 and became a pre-kindergarten teacher in 2006. She and her colleagues then donated the book and the money collected from all the centers to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's children's cancer unit.
To prepare for her professional journey, Ms. Bartashnik earned a Bachelor of Arts in early childhood education and teaching from Brooklyn College in 2001. Within the coming years, Ms. Bartashnik intends to transform the way teachers are trained in colleges, modifying and modernizing the teaching degree structure and introducing a course at the beginning of the four-year college program that will educate, guide and train students on what it means to be a teacher so they are able to make an informed decision and choose the profession for the right reasons. Her ultimate goal is to produce quality teachers who are passionate about their work and make a positive impact on children's lives.
