Besides his work at the Colorado Hydrogen Network, Mr. DeBruine was one of the founders of New Day Hydrogen, Inc. in 2020. New Day Hydrogen (NDH) is encouraging vehicle fleet owners to acquire zero-emission hydrogen vehicles then NDH deploys hydrogen fuel stations to support these fleets. He has also been on the Denver-Boulder chapter's executive team as the Science and Solutions team lead at The Climate Reality Project since 2018. Mr. DeBruine formerly garnered success as a consulting systems engineer from 2016 to 2019 and as an electrical engineer and manager of business development with Honeywell between 1980 and 2016 and between 2002 and 2010, respectively. While employed by Honeywell, he was involved in engineering, program development, and product development.
Mr. DeBruine is active in his community by volunteering with his local Habitat for Humanity. He notably designed and built two of his own homes in the past.
He is a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder with a Bachelor of Music Theory and Composition and the University of Colorado in Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He remains aware of developments in his industry as a member of the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association.
Mr. DeBruine believes we as a nation can accelerate change by promoting, advocating, and educating on the importance of ways to reverse climate change. He attributes his success to seeing a lot of support from the Colorado Energy Office, and both the Colorado and US Departments of Transportation. He also works diligently to deploy fuel stations and encourages legislators, business owners, and the public to advocate alongside him.
