Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in caring for patients with multiple sclerosis, Ms. Gray has earned distinction as a registered nurse and comprehensive multiple sclerosis center nurse coordinator for Kaiser Permanente Washington. Since 2017, she has focused her efforts on conducting phone visits with newly diagnosed patients and coordinating bloodwork for infusions and follow-up appointments for 700 other patients, coordinating their provider's various clinics as well. Additionally, she is the owner of Gray's Creations Candles and Gifts, where she offers hand-poured soy candles free of carcinogens, phthalates, reproductive toxins and other potentially hazardous chemicals.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Gray served as a registered nurse with PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in 2008 and then with Axis Medical Staffing in 2012. The same year, she was a health educator for the United States Navy and for OMV Medical Inc. In 2014, she became a registered nurse for MedTemps.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Gray was honored with a Special Contribution Award for the unique contribution to the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2003 and a Sharing Silver Award for improving glucose measures for patients receiving total parenteral nutrition. The same year, she also received a Gold Sharing Award for decreasing the incidents of contaminated blood cultures by 10% and for decreasing Clostridioides difficile positive soil cultures by 10%. Added to these, she received another Special Contribution Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2004.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Gray earned a Bachelor of Science in health sciences from Linfield College in 1995. Following this achievement, she attained an Associate of Science in Nursing from Bellevue Community College in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Washington in 2001. She also received a Master's in Nursing focusing on nursing education (Master's thesis: Web based program on the use of personal protective equipment in the administration of chemotherapy agent) from the University of Washington in 2007. Eminently qualified in her field, she is a registered nurse and multiple sclerosis certified nurse with the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses. She also is a valued member of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and the National MS Society.
Within the coming years, Ms. Gray intends to further expand the scope of Kaiser Permanente Washington's multiple sclerosis clinic, augmenting its recognition and reputation. Her plan is to implement constructive changes in the program to enhance its efficacy and transform it into a program of excellence, as it is presently the only National MS Society Comprehensive MS Center in the Kaiser organization.
