An expert in her field and avid lifelong learner, Dr. Washington earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1995. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge, receiving a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development from Webster University, a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Dr. Washington is also an approved supervisor through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
In light of her considerable achievements, Dr. Washington received a Military Bronze Medal, a Heroic Achievement Medal. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in making a positive impact on the lives of others. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her grandmother's love, belief in her at a young age, and support whose words and loving smile she remembers vividly. She also contributes her success to her husband and her children who remind and gives her constant encouragement such as, "You are wonderfully made for this, you can do this, keep going, and you ARE good enough to do this." Looking toward the future, she intends to impact her students positively and expand her role in the educational setting.
