In his latest role, Mr. Ford has leveraged his expertise to lead a multidisciplinary team to execute strategic Connected Battlespace campaigns across Collins Mission Systems that are critical to the Army's Campaign of Learning.
Mr. Ford's remarkable 24-year military career stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication and exceptional skills, culminating in the prestigious rank of Chief Warrant Officer Five (CW5). Achieving such a high rank in the U.S. Army is an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects both the rarity and significance of his contributions. His service, with over seven years in combat, showcases not only his commitment to duty but also his courage in facing the complexities of warfare. As a skilled aviator specializing in UH60 Blackhawks, Mr. Ford played a crucial role in planning special missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. His reputation as an expert in tactical and aviation operations further solidifies his standing as a leader in the military. Mr. Ford concluded his career with an impressive tenure, holding crucial roles within the U.S. Army. Prior to retiring, he dedicated three years to serving as the Special Technical Operations Director and Survivability Officer for the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC) from 2015 to 2018. Following this, he contributed two more years as the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Army, simultaneously undertaking the responsibilities of Aviation Survivability Expert and Future Systems Portfolio Manager at the Pentagon from 2018 to 2020.
Mr. Ford, a distinguished member of the U.S. Army, boasts an outstanding military career marked by significant deployments and pivotal roles. Notably, he played a crucial part in a mission that, regrettably, stands as one of the most catastrophic losses in special operations history – Extortion 17. Despite the challenges, his resilience and commitment to duty persisted, exemplified by his deployments to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF VII, OEF IX, OEF XI, OEF XIV, Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF XX), and several deployments with Special Operations.
As a leader in his community, Mr. Ford was nominated to serve on two different boards for the City Council in Alabama and is a distinct graduate of Leadership Greater Huntsville (L37). He has been active as a planning specialist for Wreaths Across America and as a sponsor for his local Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Still Serving Veterans, and Folds of Honor. He has also been affiliated with the Patriot Foundation, which serves wounded warriors and families who lost their parent in combat, as well as the United States Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) that is dedicated to enriching the lives of Veterans and their family members through the camaraderie and sportsmanship of golf. Mr. Ford has held a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University worldwide since 2019. He previously attended Warrant Officer Career College between 2015 and 2017 and the Defense Acquisition University in 2015 and completed the WTI Marine Corps Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course between 2014 and 2015. Noteworthy, Mr. Ford attended some of the most demanding advanced Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training in the world. He was distinguished as an Afghanistan Survivability expert and Enhanced Interrogation Resistance Techniques Instructor across the Army and Special Operations.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Ford is a member of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA), the Warrant Officer Association (WOA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), the Order of the Carabao, Special Operations Association of America (SOAA), and the Night Stalker Association (NSA). He is also a deputy operations officer for the Tennessee Valley chapter of the Army Aviation Association of America.
In recognition of his noteworthy contributions to his country, Mr. Ford was honored with a Warrant Officer Leadership Award by the Warrant Officer Career College in 2001. His exemplary service was further acknowledged through the bestowment of prestigious military accolades, including the Legion of Merit (LOM) in 2020 for outstanding services and achievements, received three Bronze Star Medals from the U.S. Army in 2009, 2011, and 2014, for meritorious service in combat, and six Air Medals (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014). Notably, he received the Order of Saint Michael Bronze (2011) & Silver (2020) Awards for his significant contributions to Army aviation. Mr. Ford attributes his remarkable professional success to his unwavering passion, meticulous attention to detail, and extensive experience.
