Previously, he worked for the company as a level one petroleum engineer, and for Chromalox as a senior engineering manager and discipline manager, and for Halliburton intelligent completions as a discipline lead and technical advisor. Over the years, Mr. Asthana also founded and acted as staff advisor for Datum Design Engineering Services LLC, a women owned and managed organization, and as a business partner with Agni Chemicals LLC, demonstrating his entrepreneurial and business advisory skills. During the early stages of his career, Mr. Asthana donned various roles over 20 enriching years in mechanical research and development, flow control engineering, and project management, moving through various progressive roles with Halliburton and Texas A&M University. An expert in his field, he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and materials engineering from Osmania University and a Master of Science in the same discipline from Texas A&M University. He is also a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas and a practicing Project Management Professional (PMP) and believes in continuous improvement and upskilling and encourages knowledge sharing. Subsequently, Mr. Asthana completed specialized courses in financial accounting and marketing at The Wharton School and a coveted full certificate program in data science and machine learning/ artificial intelligence from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Asthana aligns himself with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, the North Texas chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers. Mr. Asthana has contributed to the technical societies in Oilfield and Mechanical arena through numerous patents, conference and journal papers and seminars and continues to advance knowledge sharing by mentoring and training professionals and participation in the worldwide events. Throughout his career, he has also wholeheartedly contributed to his community through charitable events hosted by Halliburton, Texas A&M University, ConocoPhillips, Chromalox and now Saudi Aramco.
In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Asthana has earned numerous laurels at Halliburton and Chromalox on several occasions. Likewise, he was recognized with numerous awards throughout his illustrious career starting with a scholarship from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited which helped support his education in Texas A&M University.
