Ms. McEwen also derives great satisfaction in providing continuity of care to her patients.
Additionally, Ms. McEwen has succeeded as a health and wellness coach with Wellcoaches. Eager for future career endeavors, she anticipates establishing her own practice soon, which she will call Body Balance Health and Wellness Clinic. As part of her commitments, Ms. McEwen will have the opportunity to spend more one-on-one time with her patients, designing healthy programs for them and helping them overcome various health challenges.
Ms. McEwen has lent her time to community efforts as a former Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer. She has also donated to The Salvation Army and has served as an active parishioner at Saint Matthew's Parish. Moreover, Ms. McEwen has been involved with Foy's to Blacktail Trails, a nonprofit organization in Kalispell that serves as a multi-use, community-focused trail system that offers memberships and relies on volunteers for support.
In preparation for her career, Ms. McEwen received a nursing degree from the Presbyterian-Saint Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1986 and a Master of Science in family practice nursing, summa cum laude, from Gonzaga University in 2009. She also studied music at Pepperdine University and business at Fort Lewis College. Highly qualified in the health care sector, Ms. McEwen received family nurse practitioner certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), obesity medicine certification, high level of education in eating disorders and disordered eating certification, and wellness coach certification.
As part of her professional commitments, Ms. McEwen is a member of the AANP and the American Nurses Association. She credits her success to her passion for serving and motivating others. As a former college ski racer who joined the NCAA and prepped for the U.S. Ski Team, Ms. McEwen also draws much inspiration from her competitive nature.
