With more than four decades of excellence in the materials testing industry, Mr. Peel has earned distinction as the president of J&M Testing Lab Inc. Having joined his father's company as its secretary and treasurer in 1978, since 2015 he has focused his efforts on testing asphalt, concrete, soil and aggregates for the construction industry. They also perform subsurface borings to identify the soils and help establish a foundation for structures all the way to the finished product. Notably, he designed an emulsified asphalt in 1978, a product that is able to be transported at 60 degrees. This was utilized by the Department of the Navy Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba.
In addition to his dedication for his company, Mr. Peel served honorably in the military for 20 years and in the Florida National Guard, retiring as a senior captain in the State of Florida. He subsequently worked for the Florida Department of Transportation until 1980.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Peel is proud that his company is the only family-owned business in the geotechnical industry left in the State of Florida. He has received numerous accolades from everyone who inspected his facility, earning their business through word of mouth rather than any advertising efforts. Accounting for his success, he credits the support and education he received from his father, who taught him everything he knows in the construction business.
