BLOOMINGTON, IL, January 31, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dana L. Weaver has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Weaver's experience and work ethic come from growing up on a dairy farm in Southeast Indiana, which contributed significantly to his professional success and accomplishments. Waking up at 5 a.m. daily, seven days per week, regardless of the weather, to tend to the needs of the farm set the tone for his future. This experience also led to Mr. Weaver's decision to pursue a degree in agriculture economics.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Weaver obtained an Associate of Science in agriculture from Vincennes University in 1974 and a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from Purdue University in 1977. He also received credentials as a certified incentive specialist and certified incentive travel professional in 2018 through SITE.
He joined GROWMARK System in Bloomington, Illinois, after graduating from college. Mr. Weaver was a credit manager for two GROWMARK member cooperatives, developing and implementing best practices for credit administration from 1977 to 1989. He joined GROWMARK, Inc. in 1989 and held various roles such as region sales manager, seed support manager, and recently held the title of senior marketing manager from 2007 to 2023. GROWMARK Inc. is recognized as an agricultural cooperative based in Bloomington that provides an array of products and services to customers, ranging from agronomy, energy, and facility engineering to construction, logistics, and grain marketing management. GROWMARK notably owns the FS trademark.
In addition to his direct affiliation with GROMARK Inc., Mr. Weaver found success in the hospitality sector with Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE). He held leadership roles with SITE Chicago from 2014 to 2017 and served as Trustee on the SITE Foundation Board from 2018 to 2023.
In light of his success as an advocate in the hospitality industry, Mr. Weaver was honored to receive the Travel Advocate Award from the Incentive Travel Council in 2011. He was also recognized Among the Top 25 Most Influential in the Incentive Travel Council in 2011.
Mr. Weaver retired in 2023 after a 46-year tenure in the agriculture sector. In retirement, Mr. Weaver continues to assist his farming colleagues, which he has been involved in for nearly three decades. Among other civic involvement, Mr. Weaver was influential as a cub master for a local Boy Scouts of America group.
