He subsequently served as a summer intern for Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in 2009 and for the Oswego County Supreme Court in 2010. During this time, he also was a chief form and accuracy editor for The Digest, the law journal for the National Italian American Bar Association from 2009 until 2011, and was a student attorney with Federal and State Student Practice Orders for the City of Utica's Office of Corporation Counsel in 2010.
Following this period, Mr. Boughrum served as an assistant corporation counsel for the Office of Corporation Counsel in 2012 and became a senior associate attorney for Athari and Associates in 2014. He then took a role as a litigation associate for Sobo and Sobo, LLP in 2018 until becoming a litigation associate for J&G Law, LLP in 2022.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Boughrum was listed among the Top 40 under 40 Civil Plaintiffs Injury Lawyers by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys and was a Top Ranking Attorney with the American Association of Attorney Advocates in 2021. To prepare for his law career, Mr. Boughrum earned a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Vanderbilt University in 2006. Following this dual achievement, he attained a Juris Doctor as well as a certification in national security and counterterrorism from the Syracuse University College of Law in 2011.
