Outside of his specialty in international trade, Mr. Kristofferson has been internationally recognized for his work at the award-winning global event production, public relations, and strategic communications consulting firm, The Worldwide Capital Media Group Ltd., which he founded in 2019. Here, Mr. Kristofferson applies his visionary expertise in production and design. Additionally, he has served as the director of global public relations, affairs, and communications on behalf of the American Research Center in Bulgaria, Inc. since 2016 and as an executive board member and advisory council member of executive programs at The George Washington University since 2021. As Mr. Kristofferson prepares for the future, he aims to continue facilitating business growth and considers being active in politics.
Mr. Kristofferson began his career working in international political and public affairs as a Foreign Service employee in Bulgaria. His duties included assisting international cooperation and diplomatic relations in Washington, D.C., and throughout the United States and Bulgaria. He notably served as a human rights directorate for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia from 2001 to 2002, subsequently became an international relations and protocol directorate for the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia between 2002 and 2003, and a global business development manager for the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency in Sofia. Pivoting, Mr. Kristofferson landed a role with PNC Bank as a personal banker from 2005 to 2007 and as an international admissions counselor at the University of Pittsburg between 2007 and 2016. In 2018, Mr. Kristofferson launched The Worldwide Capital Media Group, Ltd. – a public relations and strategic communications consulting firm helping clients and communities navigate an increasingly complex public landscape.
Beyond his primary professional objectives, Mr. Kristofferson has been active in educational and civic engagement. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Bulgarian Language School 'Otec Paisii' in Pittsburg since 2010 and as the principal of customer relationship building, as an executive board member, and as an advisory council member for CX at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, since 2022. Mr. Kristofferson is also recognized as the founder of the Bulgarian Congress of the United States of America, which is dedicated to the unity, interests, history, culture, and well-being of Bulgarians in America.
Mr. Kristofferson holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in International Business and Political Science from the Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar," the largest private university in Bulgaria. He is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in International Economic Relations and Business from the University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria.
He serves as an adjunct faculty member in Communication at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and has published academic research papers in the areas of communication, identity, and organizational behavior. He has taken on numerous non-profit leadership roles, including having served on the Board of Directors at the Bulgarian-Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center (BMNECC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He speaks English, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian, and Serbian.
