Recognized for her artistry, Ms. Michaud is a fine art quilter and fabric illustrator, a niche field she began pursuing professionally in 2017. Ms. Michaud was first introduced to creating fabric pictures during high school. Leveraging her creativity, she began her career in graphic design shortly after graduating from college. However, it was not until years later that she returned to the art form by focusing more on quilting.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Michaud graduated with honors from the Ringling College of Art and Design, a private art and design school in Sarasota, Florida, in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration. As part of her continued success, she is an active member of several industry-related professional organizations, including the American Quilter's Society, and the Florida Artists Group. She was named a Board Member of Studio Art Quilt Associates in January 2024.
Ms. Michaud was recognized during her secondary school years with a Grand Prize in the Student Art Competition at the 62nd World Science Fiction Convention. She later won a Master Award for Contemporary Artistry at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2021, which was accompanied by a $5,000 prize. Looking toward the future, she envisions future success, garnering several additional accolades and a Best of Show Award for her artistic abilities. Additionally, Ms. Michaud aims to introduce the art form to the younger generation.
Attributing her success to her mother, who initially introduced her to art while coming of age, Ms. Michaud is grateful for having had such a remarkable support system at home as she continually progressed. Moreover, she is thankful for the ongoing support and critical feedback from her husband, Alex.
