In addition to starting her current business, Ms. Huston is the owner of Tee Hut LLC which partners with The WAY Center of St. Louis, an organization supplying academic support in after-school programs and whose stated goals are the following: "student and family centered approach, research-based curriculum, intentional lesson plans and goal planning to support academic and total health success in each student."
She also is involved with Epworth Children and Family Services, a facility providing shelters for homeless and other at-risk children where she participates in the children's therapy sessions, reads books to them, and provides books for them to read independently.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Huston earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from Webster University in 2004, following this achievement by earning a Master of Business Administration degree from the same institution in 2006. She has authored the children's books "Juju's Big Surprise" in 2015 and "No Playing Frisbee Today" in 2016, both of which were published by Mindstir Media and are available through her website: tanjahuston.com
The money from the purchase of any of her books or other material goes towards her current commitment of $10,000 for procuring books for children and $5000 to help teachers build their libraries.
