SCARSDALE, NY, February 06, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Samantha Slotnick, OD, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Slotnick has found success in optometry as a behavioral optometrist and founder of Mind-Body-World Optometry in Scarsdale, New York, since 2023. She has two decades of expertise in her field, specializing in vision therapy and rehabilitative work to help patients overcome various vision problems affecting their quality of life.

Catering to children and adults, Mind-Body-World Optometry is recognized as an integrative center for holistic eye and vision care, vision therapy, and neuro-optometric visual rehabilitation. Providing training to patients, including those interested in seeking neuro-optometric work to help them restore their visual quality after brain injury or concussion, Dr. Slotnick and her team also focus on individuals with balance issues at any age, including toddlers and small children with coordination problems, to help guide their motor skills. Additionally, her facility provides expertise to children experiencing learning, reading, and comprehension issues by treating them therapeutically rather than surgically to help them overcome their difficulties.

Taking a holistic approach to eye care, Dr. Slotnick utilizes natural and supportive methods to promote optimal eye health and vision. An innovative leader in the field, she also serves as the director of a team of therapists whom she has hired and trained, providing them with the necessary mentorship and development to progress.

Dr. Slotnick has given lectures, seminars, and workshops across the globe, including Germany, Greece, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. She has also held Zoom-based seminars so people worldwide can participate. Looking toward future success, Dr. Slotnick aims to publish her children's book, which is now in the hands of her illustrator.

Drawing inspiration from her own experiences, Dr. Slotnick endured vision problems that affected her quality of life and made it difficult for her to read efficiently due to a mild lazy eye, binocularity issues, coordination problems, double vision, and other setbacks that required expertise from an optometrist. Following her degrees, she worked for several organizations before establishing Mind-Body-World Optometry, including Vision Learning Center as a behavioral optometrist and Manhattan Vision Associates as a research scientist. Dr. Slotnick owned and operated her self-named private practice as a behavioral optometrist from 2012 to 2023, conducting primary and secondary levels of eye and vision care, and was an adjunct assistant research professor at her alma mater, State University of New York (SUNY), in the college of optometry between 2010 and 2013.

Through her community, Dr. Slotnick has been active on the board of the Eastern States Optometric Congress. She has also been affiliated with the Optometric Extension Program Foundation as an adjunct lecturer.

In preparation for her career, Dr. Slotnick received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, and a scholarship to complete complementary studies toward a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Rochester in 1999. She earned a Doctor of Optometry from SUNY in 2004, and subsequently completed a residency in vision therapy and rehabilitation at SUNY, a fellowship through the American Academy of Optometry, and a second fellowship in behavioral optometry from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.

Affiliated with several professional organizations supporting her career, Dr. Slotnick is presently a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She is also a member and former student society president of the New York State Optometric Association and the former co-founder of the Westchester/Fairfield Vision Therapy Study Group.

In light of her success, Dr. Slotnick has received several accolades, including the Dr. Martin H. Birnbaum Memorial Award for Outstanding Knowledge and Skills in Behavioral Optometry.
