Initially founded by a friend in 2007, the company provides testing services for fire equipment, including fire hoses, ladders, pumps, and SCBA cylinders, serving over 300 volunteer and paid fire companies. The company has notably experienced tremendous growth. Testing of Service Hose has grown from 84,000 linear feet to 1.8 million linera feet.
Besides his full-time commitments, Mr. Berti became a teacher of several junior college and community college courses, including Immigration History in the US, The Civil War, Colonial History, The Revolutionary War, WW II, and Medieval History. He also contributed numerous op-ed articles for local newspapers and a weekly history blog, 'The Sand Lake Observer.' Among other professional accomplishments, Mr. Berti owns Monferrato Wines, which imports wine from Italy.
As a dedicated civil advocate, Mr. Berti has served as a Rensselaer County representative for the Capital Area Fire District Association and a trustee for the Sand Lake Historical Society. He is also a life member and former administrative officer of the Averill Park-Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Department, where he has been credited with creating a successful fundraising program. He is responsible for raising over one million dollars for the company and the Fire District. Additionally, Mr. Berti spent over 15 years as the Sand Lake fire commissioner from 2008 to 2023.
Mr. Berti holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in history from New York University. He also garnered Series 7, 63, 24, and 27 financial licenses. Mr. Berti remains affiliated with the fire safety industry as a professional member of the Capital Area Fire District Association. In light of his civic accomplishments, he received an honor from his local fire district.
