RICHLAND, WA, February 09, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Winkel has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of expertise in nuclear and metallurgical engineering, Mr. Winkel excels as a nuclear and criticality safety engineer for Central Plateau Cleanup Company, through which he works with the Hanford Plutonium Finishing Plant. During the early stages of his career, he gained valuable expertise in the field as a lead criticality safety engineer for Fluor. Due to his considerable breadth of knowledge, Mr. Winkel has also contributed to several articles, including "New ANS Standard 8.28," which was published by the American Nuclear Society.
An expert in his field, Mr. Winkel holds a Master of Science in metallurgical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA in information systems from Regis University. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in eliminating risk for two of the most hazardous sites in the country: Building 771 in Rocky Flats and the Plutonium Finishing Plant Complex at the Hanford site. They posed the highest nuclear risk in the country.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Winkel credits his success to his drive, which was instilled in him during his time at the Colorado School of Mines. Despite struggling to learn as a student, his professors instilled in him the confidence to tackle tough challenges. Looking toward the future, Mr. Winkel intends to move into the consulting aspect of the industry before retiring.
