Mr. Kruse is a respected solo practitioner attorney and the owner of Kruse Law, LLC in Lebanon, Indiana, who has maintained his practice since 2019. Recognized for his hard work, he was recently elected as a part-time city court judge for the Lebanon City Court. He was officially sworn in on January 8, 2024 to serve a four-year term.
As a solo practitioner, Mr. Kruse managed every aspect of his firm independently while establishing himself as a business owner, which came with challenges, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic had begun. He also became a first-time father during the process. However, Mr. Kruse drew inspiration from his family, mainly his parents, who are both tenured attorneys and successfully established a thriving practice.
Mr. Kruse had initially planned on engaging in construction-related legal work. While in college, he interned as a project engineer for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. between 2005 and 2007. Choosing to pivot, he focuses his practice on family law, probate/estate planning, criminal work, personal injury, and general practice cases. He is also involved in some general contract work.
Before opening Kruse Law, LLC, Mr. Kruse garnered experience as an attorney at Whitsitt Nooning & Kruse, P.C. between 2013 and 2019. He was also a facilitator of residential mortgage foreclosure settlement conferences for the Boone County Circuit Court and Superior Court I from 2012 to 2018.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Kruse was affiliated with the Boone County Superior Court I as a clerk for Judge Kincaid and as a judge pro tempore. He was also a judge pro tempore for the Boone County Circuit Court and a law clerk for Tabbert Hahn Earnest & Weddle, LLP.
Civically invested, Mr. Kruse is an active member of the Witham Family YMCA Emeritus Board (and formerly the Board of Advisors) and the Rotary Club of Lebanon, Indiana (formerly serving as Secretary and President). He was also a Worshipful Master and Secretary of Boone Lodge #9 F. & A.M. and continues as an active member. Previously, Mr. Kruse was on the board and served as the secretary for a local drug and alcohol recovery center for men.
Mr. Kruse graduated as the salutatorian of his high school class. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University in 2008 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University in 2011. He was admitted to practice state law in Indiana and federal law in the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and Boone County Bar Association.
