A seasoned pianist with a passion for music spanning his entire life, Dr. Lian excels as a faculty member at the Omaha Conservatory of Music, specializing in classical piano. Over the years, he has served as an artist-in-residence at Linfield College, founder of the Pianists of America Festival, and faculty member at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Likewise, Dr. Lian has gained valuable expertise in the field as a visiting artist at Kansas State University, McPherson College, Nyack College, the New England Conservatory, Southwest Baptist University, and Wayland Baptist University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lian has expanded his professional knowledge by earning a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 2013. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association and an honorary member of Phi Kappa Lambda. In conjunction with his work, Dr. Lian contributes to his community as a performer for local nursing homes and fundraising efforts for various public schools.
Due to his vast breadth of knowledge and experience, Dr. Lian authored an article in "Clavier Companion." Given his considerable achievements and vast experience, he has performed at the Martha Argerich Festival and Carnegie Weill Hall and received various awards and scholarships. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Dr. Lian attributes his success to his willpower, unending motivation, and resilience. Ultimately, Dr. Lian will travel to Argentina to record a solo album and to Italy to perform chamber music with a piano trio.
