Backed by years of experience in mental health, Ms. Boutté excels in private practice as a specialist in sexuality as it relates to intellectual, developmental, and trauma disabilities and as a dialectical behavior therapy facility trainer. She works with individuals to develop and maintain education and work status, applying skills to maintain higher education rights, and advocating to employers regarding special accommodations for disabled employees. Over the years, Ms. Boutté has also served in various roles with Belk Model LLC, Queer Asterisk, FOCUS Initiative as a national facilitator, and Benefit Cosmetics. During the early stages of her career, she gained valuable professional expertise in management, marketing, sales, and the arts through such companies as Rocket City Communications and Emerge Productions. She also worked 10 years with Sterling Air Conditioning, a division of Encompass Services, a Fortune 500 company. Before establishing herself in her career, she earned a bachelor's degree in humanities and human sciences from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, and a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, mindfulness based transperson clinical counseling psychology from Naropa University. Subsequently, Ms. Boutté expanded on her education, earning certifications as a Reiki Master, Cornell Univerisity Americans with Disabilities ActInstructor, Master Life Coach, Weight Loss Coach, media and film makeup, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Boutté aligns herself with the American Counseling Association and the Autism Society of America. She also serves as a board member with Goat Walkabouts, a nonprofit serving the disabled and those in recovery. In conjunction with her work, she previously dedicated herself to others as a volunteer with Greenpeace and PETA. For her outstanding work, she received the National Presidential Humanitarian Lifetime Achievement Award, which was one of the highlights of her career. Similarly, Ms. Boutté had two days named in her honor by the city of Houston.
Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Boutté credits her success to the support of her parents and her faith.
