Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in the aerospace and defense sector, Mr. Holmes has earned distinction as the director of engineering for the Arrow Gear Company. Since 2018, he has focused his efforts on coordinating with customers on various projects and managing a team of engineers in different disciplines. He plans and creates sketches for the manufacturing floor on how to enact their operations, designing, tooling and troubleshooting processes out on the floor.
Mr. Holmes began his career as a machine tool designer working for two different machine tool builders, Hammond Machinery and Cellular Concepts. In 2000, Mr. Holmes moved into a slightly different field when he became a process engineer for Ventura Industries Inc., and then a manufacturing engineer for BMT Aerospace's Caratron Division in 2001. He subsequently served as an engineering team leader for BMT Aerospace International in 2005 until becoming a senior engineer for Belmont Equipment in 2013. Following this time, he worked as the manager of process engineering for Delta Gear Co. in 2016 and took a role as the director of engineering in 2017.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Holmes earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering graphics and design technology from the College of Engineering and Applied Science at Western Michigan University in 1995. While attending WMU, Mr. Holmes also earned a minor in Mathematics. Looking to the future, he intends to elevate himself to a position of higher responsibility, preferably in the operations or vice president role.
