He is Director of the International Peace and Leadership Institute and the Global Leadership Training Institute since 2017 providing emerging leadership research on organizational learning and leadership development and education programs as well as being recognized as a peace leadership development expert for international, national, and non-governmental organizations. Since 2015, Dr. Campbell has also served as the adjunct instructor at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, facilitating courses on crisis leadership, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and executive problem-solving and decision-making for senior organizational leaders. Additionally, Dr. Campbell provides not only executive coaching for leadership executives but also leadership facilitation and mentorship through the Teen Think Tank to prepare the next generation of leaders.
Dr. Campbell proudly served in the military as a senior military officer and has worked specifically for the Department of Defense, specializing in strategic planning and execution, organizational crisis leadership, leading organizations in uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environments, and national strategies for learning and leadership development for senior leaders. Key appointments include homeland defense policy analyst with the United States Maneuver Support Agency from 2004 to 2007, non-proliferation and consequence management planner with US Africa Command from 2007 to 2009, and strategy and integration planner with US Strategic Command between 2009 and 2019. Dr. Campbell also served as the leadership development and training program director with Government Training Solutions LLC from 2020 to 2022. He is a Global Goodwill Ambassador.
Dr. Campbell holds a Doctorate of Global Leadership from the Indiana Institute of Technology, Fort Wayne, IN, a Master of Diplomacy in International Conflict Management from Norwich University and a Bachelor's degree in Vocational Education from Emporia State University. He is an adjunct instructor at Yale University, Air Force Global Center for Professional Military Education, Norwich University, and the US Office of Professional Management at the Federal Executive Institute. Additionally, he also completed a post-graduate certificate in International Law and Post-conflict Reconstruction at the International Peace and Security Institute and is certified in Ken Blanchard Situational Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and Global DISc.
A dedication to civic service further defines Dr. Campbell's profile. Since 2020, he has served as a board member of TechNation Careers, and from 2015 to 2022, he was the President of the International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation. Dr. Campbell holds a seat on the board of directors for Atma Global Resources Limited since 2020, and served as a research volunteer with the Coalition for the International Criminal Court from 2013 to 2016. In addition, he holds sustained memberships in the International Leadership Association (2011- present), the European Consortium for Political Research (2014 - present) and the World Society of Victimology (2013 - present).
Dr. Campbell is an international author who shares his research findings as a dynamic conference and symposium presenter around the world. His recently published co-authored book and audiobook Chaos is a Gift: Leading Oneself in Uncertain and Complex Environments (2020), examines the challenges of organizational leadership during times of crisis, unpredictability, and ambiguity. His other books include Peace Leadership: Self-Transformation toward Peace (2019), exploring the intersection of leadership practice as well as conflict management, and Global Leadership Initiatives for Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding (2018). He authored several significant recent book chapters such as Peace Development: Resolving Interstate Conflict through Leadership (2022), Evolution of Peace Leadership and Practical Implications and Forgiveness and Reconciliation as an Organizational Leadership Competence (2020), Servant Leadership and Forgiveness: How Leaders Heal the Heart of the World by Larry Spears. Additionally, he has authored over 50 nationally and internationally peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Campbell is a recognized national and international speaker on character-based leadership, neuroleadership, crisis leadership, toxic organizational leadership and organizational conflict management and resolution.
