Rev. Hollinshed is an established mental health counselor affiliated with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) since 2021. Providing counseling and case management for individuals, families, and groups in rural clinics, she relies on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and lifespan integration protocols to help them persevere. She also focuses on establishing a sense of trust and vulnerability. In addition to her work with the department, Rev. Hollinshed has served as an editor for the Rural Clinics Newsletter of the Nevada Department of Public and Behavioral Health since 2022.
Rev. Hollinshed formerly worked for The Center: A Place for HOPE in Edmonds, Washington, as a clinician, telehealth clinician and as a director at The Center for Counseling and Health Resources in Edmonds from 2012 to 2021. Among other similar roles, Rev. Hollinshed spent 30 years as a litigation paralegal.
Highly active in her community, Rev. Hollinshed has been a member of the Nevada DPBH BIPOC steering committee since 2022 and the founder of Devotional Divas, a support group designed to empower women to find their voice since 2014. Previously, Rev. Hollinshed was involved with various other local organizations in many different roles, including as a pastor of the Sojourner Truth AME Zion in New York and as the executive director of a nonprofit organization in New York. Looking toward the future, she plans to retire in 2024 and form a nonprofit community center to showcase and nurture local talent among the youth in art, drama, poetry, and other creative forms.
Rev. Hollinshed holds a Bachelor of Science in management and a Master of Science in psychology from the University of Phoenix since 2004 and 2012, respectively. She also has a Master of Public Administration in nonprofit, public, and organizational management from the University of Albany, State University of New York, since 2021 and a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University since 2023. Rev. Hollinshed has held credentials in lifespan integration with level II certification and as a certified paralegal through Edmonds College. Additionally, she became an ordained deacon through the Washington Metropolitan AME Zion.
Rev. Hollinshed remains committed to her field as a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. She is also affiliated with the International Society of Female Professionals, the National Society of Leadership Success, and the Golden Key International Honor Society.
