Mr. Wright is the founder and chair of the board of directors at Ten 2 Seven, Inc., a Houston-based logistics company and transportation service provider contracted to FedEx Ground. Specializing in moving freight as line-haul contractors, his team of drivers travels nationwide serving FedEx. In May 2023, after nearly a decade of overseeing operations and being recognized in 2022 by FedEx Ground as Regional Entrepreneur of the Year, Mr. Wright retired from his full-time role and now supervises its chief executive officer. He also attends four board meetings annually to make final decisions.
Before launching Ten 2 Seven, Inc., Mr. Wright led a diverse career for more than 40 years, beginning in the late 1970's as an entertainer in Las Vegas and South Lake Tahoe, California. Trained as a classical dancer, he transitioned into cabaret-style dancing once in Las Vegas. During his 12-year tenure, Mr. Wright did over 8000 performances as the lead male dancer for numerous multi-million dollar shows, including Casino de Paris and Lido de Paris in Las Vegas and Hotter and Hotter at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe.
During the mid-1980's, Mr. Wright became an aide to Mr. John C. Cushman III, a real estate executive and chairman of the board of Cushman & Wakefield. He then returned to the entertainment industry, producing a dozen international and national cabaret shows between 1989 and 2011. Mr. Wright also garnered success as an automated systems technician and consultant to the president and chief operating officer at The Riviera Hotel and Casino from 2000 to 2007, followed by a two-year commitment as a consultant for ICE the Show from Russia at The Riviera between 2007 and 2009. He was then afforded the opportunity to work with the Russian State Circus Company in Las Vegas as U.S. legal representative from 2011 to 2013.
Civically, Mr. Wright has supported the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. He is also a member of the Brenham Country Club, the Houston Yacht Club, and his local volunteer fire department.
