Despite the hard work, he considers it more of a hobby because he finds it enjoyable.
Since founding his company, Mr. Tomlinson has worked on various large-scale projects at such locations as King's Island, the Scovill Zoo, Silver Beach Carousel, and Cass County Dentzel Carousel. Looking toward the future of his career as a business owner in this niche area, he plans to expand operations within the next three to six years, provide employment opportunities for more individuals, and bring continuous joy and happiness to the many children he works so hard to create these remarkable, full-size carousels for.
Mr. Tomlinson began his career in the industry at Carousel Works, where he spent over a decade. He started as a painter and was promoted to the head of the paint department. He also developed a keen expertise in building the horses' bodies and structures, and constructing the metal fabrications. Throughout his career, Mr. Tomlinson has notably traveled the world to install over 35 one-of-a-kind carousels.
In addition to his success as the owner of All Around Carousels, Mr. Tomlinson founded Little Inspirations just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, a nonprofit organization that aims to assist children's hospitals; it is currently up to date but inactive.
Mr. Tomlinson studied sculpting, painting, and mold-making at The Ohio State University. In light of his success, he has been highlighted in several local newspapers and journals and was featured on NPR News in 2023. He attributes his accomplishments to his integrity and desire to treat his customers like family. Mr. Tomlinson also notes the mentorship he received from a master craftsman and being able to apply what he has learned for his customers.
