A dedicated veterinary professional, Dr. Grant has earned distinction as the area chief of staff veterinarian for Banfield Pet Hospital. Since 2021, she has focused her efforts on serving as a multi-unit manager across the Michigan market, primarily functioning in a leadership role by developing medical teams, delivering on various business objectives, promoting future medical leaders and ensuring quality standards and protocols are practiced effectively. Additionally, she is a valued member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and serves as a communications co-chair for the diversity, equity and inclusion committee of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. She also is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, the Pride Veterinary Medical Community and the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association. Added to these, she was appointed to the Michigan State Board of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.
Prior to her current position, Dr. Grant began her career as an associate veterinarian for the Pecan Acres Pet Care and Mobile Veterinary Hospital in 2009 and served in a similar role for the Elgin Family Pet Center Inc. in 2011. She then joined the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic as an associate veterinarian in 2012. She continued her career as an associate veterinarian for Banfield Pet Hospital in 2014 and was promoted to the chief of staff veterinarian in 2016.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Grant earned a Bachelor of Science in veterinary sciences from Michigan State University in 2007. Following this achievement, she attained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Well-qualified in her field, she is fear-free certified and low-stress handling certified and holds a human-animal bond certification.
Within the coming years, Dr. Grant intends to build her portfolio and take on even greater leadership roles, enabling her to make a positive impact on the profession as a whole rather than just seeing pets one-on-one. As part of this effort, she is enrolled in a Master of Business Administration program at the University of Southern Indiana and expects to graduate in August 2024. Accounting for her success in the field thus far, she credits the valuable mentorship she has received throughout the years as well as her constant pursuit of personal and professional growth.
