The Computer Task Group welcomed him as a cluster test engineer in 2002, and in 2005 he joined IBM to work in intelligent cluster development before progressing to the solution Lead Engineer in 2009. During his time as Lead Engineer, Mr. Cudak put together a team of developers and acquired funding, within IBM, to develop X-config, and e2e application for the rapid design, presales, sales and manufacturing, of high-performance computing and complex solutions. Still in use today, it's known for its contribution towards Lenovo's position as the top HPC company in the world.
Academic training and important industry credentials have been foundational to Mr. Cudak's professional advancement. He's earned the Microsoft Certified System Engineer designation in 2001. With his accumulated expertise, Mr. Cudak contributes meaningfully to industry conversations through a record of prolific publication, including "Lenovo Big Data Reference Architecture for Cloudera Enterprise" in 2016 and "Lenovo Big Data Validated Design for Cazena SaaS Cloudera on ThinkAgile HX" in 2019. Mr. Cudak has coauthored many documents across Lenovo Press, focused on Operating Systems. Overall, Mr. Cudak has more than 160 Publications and thousands of citations.
Where Mr. Cudak excels, is innovation and creative problem-solving, having obtained nearly 300 patents across more than 10 technology domains. Beginning with his first patent in 2010, he has gone on to receive many recognitions in this field. Specific recognitions include IBM Site Inventor of the Year in 2012 and 2013 and a three-time recipient of the Most Valuable Patent Awards with Lenovo in 2019, 2020 and 2021. These accomplishments propelled him to be recognized as the top patent holder at Lenovo ISG in 2022. Mr. Cudak has gone one to host WW innovation events for Lenovo ISG.
Numerous additional accolades mark Mr. Cudak's career accomplishments, including the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award from IBM in 2012, for the design of the first converged solution. He also received an Individual Excellence Award in 2019, for implementation of the first implementation of a first cryptocurrency banking solution on a new HX platform. Gary also received a team excellence award in 2020, for his role in the Lenovo Technology Academy.
Mr. Cudak has also pursued a passion, as President of Revelnation Enterprises Inc. and Revel with a Cause Inc., focused on humanitarian efforts to improve energy, agriculture, education, clean water accessibility, modernized healthcare, and infrastructure, for under-developed nations. Presently, REI/RWACI are partnered with Sierra Leone and Liberia.
For recreation, Gary most enjoys all manner of outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife, Heather, and children, Caleb, Gavin and Leah.
