Dr. Stead is the proud head of a Bezos Academy site where she has exhibited superb leadership since 2022. In her critical leadership role, she relies on exceptional academic training and professional accomplishment, including a bachelor's degree in political and international science from Macalester College. She also completed a Master of Science in counseling psychology from Nova Southeastern University and another master's degree in educational leadership. Notably, Dr. Stead holds a terminal degree in education leadership and administration after earning a doctorate from the American College of Education.
Broad experience as a mental healthcare practitioner, educator and administrator accompanies Dr. Stead in her current role. She was in private practice as a psychologist from 1997 to 1999 before accepting an appointment as the school principal at Colegio Jefferson in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1999. Subsequently, she served as a bilingual teacher with Humble ISD in Kingwood, Texas, from 2003 to 2006 before transitioning to a role in Argentina, where Dr. Stead worked as a high school teacher at Bede's Grammar School through 2011.
In 2014, Dr. Stead moved to China to accept a position as the team leader at TEDA Global Academy, where she excelled until 2017. Notably, she progressed to the rank of director of La Sierra International School in Valledupar, Colombia, where Dr. Stead remained from 2017 to 2019.
An avid scholar, Dr. Stead has contributed significantly to the discourse in the field. A recent article titled "Pre-K-12th Instructional Leaders' Roles During COVID-19 Modified Instruction: A Phenomenological Study" was published in the prestigious journal American College of Education in 2021. She has also earned important industry credentials including the AMI administrator certificate, and Dr. Stead was designated as instructional leader and as a TECPDS certified trainer.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Stead aims to expand her coaching and leadership skills whilst working closely with rising school leaders. She is also enthusiastic about conducting an in-depth exploration of Montessori protocols, specifically how the educational system serves different age groups and adults. Additionally, Dr. Stead is receiving her MBA in the summer.
