CABOT, PA, March 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Albert "Al" E. Depew, MSFS, AEP, president of Depew Tax/Estate Planning, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, regional edition of Forbes magazine.
Driven by a deep sense of humility and empathy for his clients, Albert "Al" E. Depew has achieved recognition as the president of Depew Tax/Estate Planning since 1971. In his leadership capacity, he is particularly proud to have provided expert financial counsel while handling more than $1 billion in estate value. Working in conjunction with other experts in the field of estate planning, including attorneys and judges, Dr. Depew primarily serves retirees to make arrangements for future wealth management. He became involved in the field after working with income tax clients, which sparked his interest in research and discovering novel ways to reduce taxes owed.
Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Depew served as a member of the U.S. Navy and acted as a surgeon with a specialization in ear, nose and throat procedures for veterans returning from Vietnam during the early 1970s, as well as Korean War veterans. During this time, he earned distinction at the Tunisian Embassy in Washington, DC, as a private duty nurse for Mongi Slim, the first African to serve as president of the United Nations General Assembly. Dr. Depew also participated in the first successful angle-to-angle mandible transplant. In recognition of his selfless efforts in treating military personnel, Dr. Depew was named an adjunct member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, despite having never served overseas. Other civic accomplishments to his credit include his work with Gideons International, a nonprofit Evangelical Christian association, through which he spent eight years, the fourth Sunday of every month, working monthly at Butler County Prison.
In accounting for his success, Dr. Depew credits the influence of his grandmother, Jennie Depew, whose poetry and compassionate demeanor inspired him. Likewise, he finds great comfort and support from his wife, Joan, who taught him how to relax and enjoy the small things in life. Dr. Depew looks upon the years ahead with hope and anticipation and aspires to care for his health, continue to work diligently for his clients, and travel the world.
Dr. Depew studied at Grove City College, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1968. He went on to attend Ohio State University and graduated with a Master of Science in pharmacology. Furthermore, he studied financial services at American College, receiving a Master of Science in financial services in 1975. Dr. Depew concluded his academic efforts with the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, which granted him a doctorate in estate planning in 1992.
Well-regarded for his accomplishments as an estate planner, Dr. Depew was bestowed with a Lifetime Award after 50 years in his profession by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils in 2021.
