Subsequently, she expanded on her considerable knowledge by completing a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Public Administration with concentration in state and local governments from Nova Southeastern University. She also received a Lean Six Sigma Belt certification through Florida International University.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Perez-Borroto aligns herself with the American Society for Public Administration, Society of Human Resources Management, the Golden Key International Honour Society, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society. Devoted to her community, she also serves as a Member of the United Way Miami Emergency Food and Shelter Program Local Board, Miami-Dade County Age Friendly Initiative Stakeholder Advisory Committee, Trustee Member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and as a historian for the Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church Women's Club.
