Miss Pelletier's first positions in prospect research were at the Harvard University Development Office and at Lesley College. After developing the annual giving program at Southern New Hampshire University, she joined Datatel Inc. in 2001 as a lead consultant. As an associate at The Helen Brown Group, a full-service prospect development consultancy that caters to working with nonprofit clients, Miss Pelletier helped launch the company's data science program. Additionally, Miss Pelletier accepted the position of director of advancement research at Carnegie Mellon University from 2004 to 2006, followed by appointments at Cornell University as the director of advancement research and data support between 2006 and 2012 and senior consultant of the alumni affairs and development office from 2012 to 2015.
Recognized for her work, Miss Pelletier has written numerous articles and presented publicly on various related topics, earning a reputation for consistently delivering insightful issues. She has also authored several books, including Campaign Benchmarking and Database Prospecting Learning Guide, a 2004 workbook for Datatel clients – one of the earliest data science books for nonprofit professionals. She wrote, Prospecting Using Social Media: A Primer via Academic Impressions in 2012. The book walks readers through over 30 exercises on how to use social media for prospecting and prospect research. It also provides tips and tricks regarding tactics for mining social media, how to utilize social media to identify the level of involvement, affinity, and philanthropic engagement, and more. Miss Pelletier subsequently authored "Building Your Analytics Shop: A Workbook for Non-Profits" as part of the Staupell Analytics Workbook Series via CreateSpace in 2016. She also spent two years as a newsletter editor for the Black Sheep Handspinners Guild between 2012 and 2014.
As a prominent member of her community, Miss Pelletier has volunteered with the Franziska Racker Centers from 2011 to 2014 and served on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Tompkins and Cortland Counties from 2017 to 2021, serving as president from 2020 to 2021. She is also a member of the Black Sheep Handspinners Guild in Ithaca, New York, serving as the Guild's workshop coordinator, Crossfit Righteous of Leeds, AL; and the Bobbin Lace Guild of Brooklyn, NY.
Miss Pelletier graduated from Rockford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and from Southern New Hampshire University with a Master's in Business Administration. She also earned credentials as a certified fundraising executive.
As a dedicated professional, Miss Pelletier is a member of several industry-related organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals Finger Lakes Chapter since 2017, serving as president from 2019 through 2022, and as a member and past president of the Upstate New York chapter of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement.
Miss Pelletier was recognized as the Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women and received an Anne Castle Lifetime Achievement Award from the New England Development Research Association.
