With more than two decades of excellence in civil engineering, Mr. Gorog has earned distinction as a municipal engineering representative for OHM Advisors. Since 2017, he has focused his efforts on working on projects for municipalities, which include roadways, storm and sanitary sewers, and anything else to support the community. He skillfully advises the mayor and council on items with the community regarding infrastructure, development within the community, setting up capital improvement plans, and handling federal, state, and local funding. Additionally, he lends his expertise as the Summit County Villages representative for the Summit County Executive Offices of the Association of Mediation and Transport Services Technical Advisory Committee. He is also a valued member of the American Society of Civil Engineering and the American Society of Highway Engineering.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Gorog began his career as an assistant field inspector through the University of Akron co-op program for the Ohio Department of Transportation in 1998 and as a surveying assistant and AutoCAD technician for McCoy and Associates, Inc. in 2000. Upon graduation from the University of Akron in Spring 2022, he began working full-time as a design engineer for McCoy and Associates, Inc. He served in a similar role for Greenland Consulting, Inc. in 2003, becoming a project engineer for Chagrin Valley Engineering in 2005.
While developing his professional journey, Mr. Gorog earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Akron in 2002. Well-qualified in his field, he holds a certification in the National Association of Sewer Service Companies, Pipeline, Lateral, and Manhole Assessments from the University of Texas at Austin. Looking to the future, Mr. Gorog intends to become a project manager in his company. He is particularly proud to have been the runner-up for Employee of the Year in 2022.
