Mr. Ghonasgi is a tenured educator who joined Kermit Independent School District (KISD), a public school district in Kermit, Texas, in 2016. As a high school science teacher, he works closely with students to teach them the fundamentals of physics and chemistry. Recognized for his passion and enthusiasm in the classroom, Mr. Ghonasgi enjoys connecting with his students in a way that makes them feel comfortable and open to learn. Having notably been teaching for over 30 years, he aims to continue inspiring his students through education and helping them achieve their goals.
KISD is a small school district that comprises four schools: Kermit Elementary School, Kermit Junior High School, Kermit High School, and Kermit Early College High School. Home of the Yellowjackets, the district also offers various athletics for students, including baseball, softball, track, and cross country.
Before joining the KISD, Mr. Ghonasgi garnered success with Vivek's Shree Academy as a mathematics teacher and as the institution's director between 1993 and 2010. The school offered educational opportunities for students between ages 12 and 18.
Active in various community-wide initiatives, Mr. Ghonasgi particularly enjoys participating in community clean-up drives. He is a graduate of Mumbai University in his native India, where he garnered a Bachelor of Arts in education and physics and a Master of Science in education before immigrating to the U.S.
In recognition of his dedication to education, Mr. Ghonasgi was honored to be selected as the KISD Employee of the Year. He attributes much of his professional accomplishments to his family's ongoing love and support.
