Before his present role, Mr. Mendelsohn began his career as an analyst for the Procter and Gamble Company in 1991. Following this time, he was a vice president at Capital One Financial Corporation starting in 1999, until joining McKinsey and Company in 2010. He subsequently worked as the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer for CAN Capital. in 2013 until taking a role as the Chief Marketing Officer for Edelman Financial Services in 2016. He has been a strategic advisor to Goldman Sachs, FundBox, Liberis, MPOWER Financing, and other fintech companies.
To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Mendelsohn earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Maryland.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Mendelsohn has been recognized with multiple Fintech Innovation Awards for his notable contributions and achievements in the financial technology sector and was admitted as a fellow to the National Science Foundation through the University of Pennsylvania. He was honored with a David Ogilvy Award for his contributions to the "What's in Your Wallet?" advertising campaign for credit card products while working for the Capital One Financial Corporation. He also was integral to helping the company's customers to adopt electronic payments. Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, he was appointed to an advisory group for the Small Business Administration in implementing the Paycheck Protection Program. Added to these, during his time in academia, he developed enhanced simulators aimed at training individuals to make improved decisions.
