Recently, Mr. Daskalakis was an education expert at Microsoft from 2019 to 2021, where he leveraged his expertise to enhance educational outcomes through technology. He was also employed by Simon Property Group as a guest services representative, initially at Smith Haven Mall and then at the Walt Whitman Shops between 2018 and 2019. Moreover, Mr. Daskalakis garnered experience as a real estate independent contractor from 2016 to 2018 and as a freelance web designer, technology trainer and consultant, and instructional technologist from 2000 to 2017.
Adding to his professional educational background, Mr. Daskalakis was a cadet education specialist in English language arts and world history for the New York State Office of Children and Family Services in 2013. He was also a website liaison and a permanent substitute teacher of English language arts at the John W. Dodd Middle School from 2009 to 2012, a per diem substitute teacher across various school districts on Long Island between 2004 to 2009, a lead elementary teacher at Huntington Learning Center from 2005 to 2006, and a seasonal school teacher for kindergarten through sixth grade with the New York State Office of Mental Health, Queens Children's Psychiatric Center, in 2006.
Among other professional endeavors, Mr. Daskalakis plans to create a podcast to expand his impact beyond genealogical research into new public discourse and education realms. As a dedicated civic leader, he has remained active as a volunteer with the Wounded Warrior Project since 2015 and Lift for the 22 since 2017. Mr. Daskalakis has also been active as a member of the PanCretan Association of America since 2019 and has been affiliated with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center since 2021.
Mr. Daskalakis holds a Bachelor of Science in adult and continuing education from Saint Joseph's University, New York since 2000 and a Master of Science in elementary education from Dowling College since 2004. Additionally, he received a certificate of completion in genealogical research principles from Boston University in 2021.
