She has also been a valued associate with a digital equipment firm in her home country of Hong Kong, and she excelled as a regional finance controller for a high-end fashion company.
Academic achievement and critical industry designations further define Ms. Ho's professional profile. As a student in Hong Kong, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in accounting from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a public research university in Hung Hom, Kowloon. She subsequently attended Andrews University to pursue a Master of Business Administration, which she completed in 1992, and in 2009, she finished a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Central Florida. Of all her educational endeavors, Ms. Ho is particularly proud of completing the rigorous requirements toward the CPA designation.
Ms. Ho maintains a broad network through extensive global travel as well as vital memberships in the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a proud fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Her success has been recognized by the Honorable Darren Soto, who named her a Distinguished Leader in Central Florida for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Additionally, Ms. Ho received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian Award.
Dedicated to personal growth and self-improvement, Ms. Ho lives by the words of Martin Luther King Jr.: "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." This is a lesson she aspires to pass on to younger generations, including her two sons, Hans Lau, 30, and Frank Lau, 26.
Ms. Ho attributes her professional success to her faith in God and familial support, especially that of her spouse, Chi Lau. Additionally, she is motivated by a passion for engaging with her community. For more than a decade, she has humbly served as treasurer of Mills 50, while also serving as president of the Chinese American Association of Central Florida and chair of REACH of Central Florida.
