Mr. Clay is also an expert in cross platform management related to communication, technical development and personnel matters, and he is responsible for meeting operational executive objectives.
Deep industry experience accompanies Mr. Clay in his current position. He initiated his career in 2006 and 2007 as an intern with Ameren and American Electric Power, respectively. In 2008, American Electric Power welcomed him as an electrical engineer, and from 2012 to 2013 he excelled in a senior project engineer role with TRC Solutions. In 2014, he accepted a position at the same rank with Leidos Engineering before progressing to EASi, where from 2016 to 2018 Mr. Clay thrived as the practice manager, utilities and energy.
Mr. Clay accumulated additional expertise as the engineering manager, utilities, with UANI Consulting from 2018 to 2019 before transitioning to the title of project manager with Duke Energy Corporation in 2019. Afterwards, Mr. Clay chose to operate as a senior commissioning engineer with FirstEnergy until 2023, gaining first-hand knowledge of equipment testing and field operations. Additionally, Mr. Clay maintains significant industry network connections through membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Project Management Institute.
Exceptional academic training is key to Mr. Clay's advancement thus far and includes a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Morehouse College, which he completed in 2006. He earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2008 before pursuing graduate studies at the Florida Institute of Technology, where he earned a Master of Business Administration in 2015. Notably, Mr. Clay is pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership from Grand Canyon University, which he expects to finish in 2024, and he holds the project management professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
In his time at EASi, Mr. Clay's careful assessment of leadership and strategic planning, specifically focusing on root cause analysis and role stabilization, enabled the firm to extend their master service agreement and avoid termination of the engineering services contract. This would serve as a significant accomplishment, awarding him the Modern Technology Leader award from BEYA in 2018.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Clay is enthusiastically aiming to partner with his wife to open a school to give back to the community in meaningful ways. He also aims to expand his influence within his industry to assist young engineers as they initiate their careers. Ultimately, Mr. Clay plans to launch his own organization to embrace the freedom to leverage his unique leadership philosophies, expectations and quality standards.
