Before transitioning into the nonprofit sector, Mr. Justak served as the director of asset management at OB Companies from 2008 to 2011, where he effectively managed property assets. He also garnered extensive success in the self-storage industry, more recently as the Chicago region manager at Simply Self Storage from 2007 to 2008, where he showcased his ability to lead and manage operations across different organizations. Previously, Mr. Justak held district manager positions for Public Storage Shurgard Self Storage, and Superior Storage LLC dating back to 1990, each of which allowed him to refine his skills in overseeing district operations and enhancing company performance. Additionally, he served as a Detroit area manager for Pizza Hut from 1989 to 1991, where he honed his leadership abilities in the food service industry.
Aside from his work-related initiatives through his nonprofit, Mr. Justak authored the book, "Puck Farkinson's: A Parkinson's Memoir" via Palmetto Publishing in 2023. The inspiring book discusses the disease, provides inspiration for those suffering from it, and showcases his resilience and determination in the face of the progressive disease to offer hope to readers.
Civically invested, Mr. Justak enjoys participating in an annual fundraising walk for Parkinson's each spring hosted by the Parkinson's Foundation Minnesota. He also frequently donates to the organization and to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Underpinning Mr. Justak's successful career is his academic background. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Ball State University in 1979. This education gave him the financial acumen to manage organizational resources effectively.
