An expert in his field, Mr. Skoutelas earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California, Irvine, in 2005. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing a master's degree in biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also managed a consulting team specializing in sales, marketing, regulatory affairs, and research and development for biotechnology startup companies. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Skoutelas donates to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and contributes to others through his local Greek Orthodox Church.
Mr. Skoutelas won the NCAA Scholar-Athlete Award every year between 2001 and 2005 for his professional and athletic achievements. Likewise, he earned the Commercial Star Award from Pharmascience in 2019 and 2022.
