In this capacity, she ensures regulatory compliance and manages regular SOC and PCI DSS audits, oversees risk analysis and management of internal processes, and leads compliance and audit teams. Additionally, Ms. Sousa is one of the founding members of GoGuard, through which she and a select group of NASA engineers developed an automated monitoring and control system to ensure security compliance through a product's development life cycle.
Previously, Ms. Sousa gained valuable expertise in similar roles with Phoenix, Deltek, and as a consultant for information technology consulting specializing in security and compliance. Throughout her career, she has done contract work for Hewlett Packard, Charles Schwab, and more. Likewise, she has developed considerable expertise in NIST, FISMA, PCI DSS, SOC2, SCADA, HIPAA, and DIACAP regulatory requirements. Dedicated to her country, she also served her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force, through which she served for 14 years.
An expert in her field, Ms. Sousa earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in electronic systems technology from the Community College of the Air Force in 1990 and an Associate of Arts from the University of Maryland two years later. Subsequently, she became a certified information systems auditor, a certified data privacy solutions engineer, and a certified information security manager. Similarly, she received a cybersecurity nexus certification. To remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Ms. Sousa aligns herself with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
For her outstanding achievements, Ms. Sousa was named to Marquis Who's Who of Professional Women.
