Leveraging over two decades of previous experience to her success, Ms. Nayab is the engineering leader at Albemarle, a specialty chemicals manufacturing company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. As part of her responsibilities, she utilizes her background in engineering, including electrical, power systems, electronics, and control systems, with her tenure in manufacturing, oil and gas, and construction to move the company's processes forward. Among other goals, Ms. Nayab has focused on sustainability and the chemical refining industry through her work.
Ms. Nayab began her career in 2000 with Consolidated Contractors International Company as an electrical engineer and consultant. She subsequently joined EN Engineering in 2012 as a senior design engineer, garnering experience on various projects. From 2014 to 2018, Ms. Nayab was an engineering manager at Devon Energy, recognized as a subject matter expert on safety. She also found success with Ingersoll Rand as a global engineering manager from 2018 to 2021. Just before joining Albemarle, Ms. Nayab was employed by Stanley Black & Decker Inc. as the director of engineering between 2021 and 2023, leading a team that builds compressors, panels inside motors, drivers, electronics, connectivity, controllers, IoT systems, and engineering systems.
Adding to her success, Ms. Nayab has been published in the professional publication of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Power & Energy Society, contributing several peer-reviewed articles in 2004 and 2005.
As a leader in her community, Ms. Nayab has volunteered by supporting various clothing and food drives with interfaith and homeless charities, mosques, and churches. She has also supported various charities and schools in her native India.
Born in India, Ms. Nayab resided in Libya for most of her childhood. Returning to India, she completed high school and received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Government Engineering College in 2000. She and her family subsequently resided in Oman, where she worked for several years before relocating to the U.S. for more opportunities. Ms. Nayab achieved a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2004. She also completed professional courses through LinkedIn in psychological safety and Lean Six Sigma foundations in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
As part of her continued commitments to the industry, Ms. Nayab is a member of the Society of Women Engineers. During her distinguished tenure in engineering, she has received numerous internal awards from her previous companies, a testament to her hard work and persistence in her field.
