Before obtaining her current role at West Virginia University Heart & Vascular Institute at Wheeling Hospital, Ms. Pietranton gained valuable expertise as a registered nurse in the incentive care unit and as a cardiac sonographer. These jobs set the foundation for the expertise in cardiology and establishing a structural heart program at Wheeling Hospital (TAVR, Watchman, MitraClip), Dare to C.A.R.E., heart failure, and cardiac services coordinator. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Pietranton gained valuable expertise in healthcare as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer for the Cardiac Neuro Vascular Center, pediatric cardiac sonographer for WVU Medicine and UPMC, technical director echocardiogram sonographer, technology director of the echocardiography laboratory, trauma nurse, intensive care nurse, and nursing assistant.
An expert in her field, Ms. Pietranton earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing from Wheeling University. Subsequently, she became a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and received distinction as an Associate of the American College of Cardiology. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, she aligns herself with the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American College of Cardiology. Similarly, Ms. Pietranton is a board member of the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce and officer in many youth sports boosters.
In light of her professional achievements, Ms. Pietranton won a Community Improvement Award from the local Chamber of Commerce and her hardware store was awarded Best of the Valley Readers' Choice Award for Best Hardware Store after just one year in business. She was also a Woman of Impact Award through the American Heart Association.
