Accuvent is based in Houston and is renowned for specializing in commercial restaurant kitchen hood ventilation and full HVAC installations. The company has over 60 years of combined ventilation experience in commercial kitchens.
Throughout his tenure, Mr. Cathro has become an expert in HVAC systems, kitchen exhaust ventilation, HVAC installations, air movement, and exhaust ventilation. His most notable achievement is taking ownership of Accuvent. Starting as a low-level employee tasked with cleaning grease from hoods, Mr. Cathro's consistent hard work and commitment allowed him to climb the ranks within the company. After dedicating 20 years to the organization, he was given the opportunity to purchase the business alongside a colleague who had worked by his side throughout their careers. This milestone signifies Mr. Cathro's dedication and is an inspiring example of how perseverance can lead to remarkable success. The foundation of Mr. Cathro's professional expertise is complemented by his academic background. He completed coursework in a six-month financial technology boot camp at Rice University from 2019 to 2020, focusing on blockchain machine learning and data visualization. Mr. Cathro attributes much of his success to the wisdom imparted by his father, a ship captain for the British Merchant Navy, and his mother, "Miss Nantwich 1973," and one of the Merchant Navy's first female radio officers, who advised him that dedication to one's passion can lead to becoming an expert in one's field.
