She leveraged her considerable knowledge in nursing homes, specialty hospitals, and home health settings. Additionally, she honed her healthcare administration skill set as a nursing director. Alongside her work in the medical field, she worked as a senior benefits adviser for FedEx Express from 1985 until 2014. As a human resources expert, Ms. Quinn managed disability and medical cases, conducted clinical audits, and led several groups as a project manager.
Before starting her professional career, Ms. Quinn earned a nursing diploma from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1972. Subsequently, she expanded her knowledge by completing a Bachelor of Professional Studies in healthcare management through the University of Memphis and an MBA in aviation-airway management and operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Likewise, Ms. Quinn became a lifetime senior professional in human resources and received a case management certification.
Although now retired, Ms. Quinn contributes to her community by volunteering as a special needs nurse. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in working in a supervisory capacity for most of her career. In addition to serving as a member of the JCAHO Committee of Businesses at FedEx, she sat on the UB-82 Home Health Committee. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her energy, her love of a challenge, and her mentor, Eldra Perry, a licensed practical nurse she met in nursing school. Within the coming years, Ms. Quinn intends to continue volunteering as a nurse in her community while enjoying her retirement.
