Since 2014, she has focused her creative efforts on charcoal drawing, watercolor, gold leaf application, and calligraphy.
Outside of her primary efforts, Ms. Dickson has completed a variety of commission work and has sold art at shows over the course of her career. She has showcased her art in gallery exhibits in Palm Valley, Florida, including the famous establishment at Oviedo Mall's Penguin Point Gallery in Florida. Prior to her current role, Ms. Dickson provided telephone fundraising training for The Share Group in Boston for a number of years, and led a department of telephone fundraisers at Boston Children's Hospital for three years. Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Dickson received an Honorable Mention for one of her art pieces she submitted to a show many years ago, and she was more recently honored with a ribbon for each of the three drawings she submitted to a show in Palm Valley, Florida in 2022.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Dickson studied German and Art at the University of Massachusetts, having studied as an exchange student in Germany for a year. She then graduated from the Butera School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts, and furthered her coursework at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, studying design, figure drawing, and charcoal techniques.
Within the coming years, Ms. Dickson aspires to become a published illustrator and children's book author. She strives to continually improve her work, learning different techniques, such as combining charcoal and watercolor techniques in her work as an illustrator. She is also collaborating with well-known watercolor artist Mark Mitchell, having taken many of his watercolor painting and children's book illustration classes as part of her creative and professional development.
