Since obtaining his current role in 2014, he has produced recovery plans and executed a number of successful Dow Projects, while achieving nearly 70 percent of the schedule progress in 12 months on several of those projects, amounting to 25-million-man hours of effort. Over the last 45 years, Mr. Plemons has excelled with Fluor Corporation in numerous roles, managing large, multi-billion dollar projects in countries worldwide, including Indonesia, Australia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Puerto Rico.
In addition to influencing and leading front-end planning efforts on several projects, Mr. Plemons liaised with clients and managed profits and losses of projects for Fluor Corporation and Southern Company that involved 3.8 million man-hours of effort over several projects. Additionally, he worked on such major projects as a 100,000,000 gallon per year ethanol facility in Nebraska, a hydrogen facility in Corpus Christi, Texas, a rail car dumper upgrade for the South Mississippi Power Authority, one of the first major refinery upgrades in the US at Garyville Louisiana for Marathon Refinery and multiple projects for Entergy in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Florida.
Alongside his work, Mr. Plemons contributes to his community by participating in the Fluor Cares Program, through which he and his team adopted three first responder's homes, bring the home into repair and modified for those first responders, helping them for the service they had given to the community. Given his professional achievements, he was honored with the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Award two times, the Engineering News-Record Project of the Year Award three times, and the Hugh K. Coble Award which is the Excellence in Execution award within Fluor four times. Other standout moments in Mr. Plemons' career include winning the S&P Lifetime Achievement Award and completing nearly 300 million man-hours of projects in his career.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Plemons credits his success to his father a military disciplined, entrepreneur, and general contractor who instilled in him the importance of keeping his word, doing a job right the first time, and delivering quality work regardless of the nature of the project.
