Her leadership skills were previously honed as the director of the Office of Technology Transfer at Thomas Jefferson University between 1987 and 1989 and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey from 1985 to 1987. Dr. Licata began her legal career as an associate at Cohen, Shapiro, Polisher, Shiekman, and Cohen between 1983 and 1985 after transitioning from her scientific roles with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and The Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia.
The foundation for Dr. Licata's illustrious career was laid through rigorous academic preparation. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Western Maryland College in Westminster in 1975, a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu in 1978, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Rutgers University in 1984. Dr. Licata is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida and is a registered patent attorney. Dr. Licata also received credentials as a licensed U.S. referee from the U.S. Rowing Association.
Dr. Licata's professional affiliations reflect her dedication to her field.
