From 2020 to 2023, he was the managing director for global security channels, partnerships, and ecosystems within Cisco's Global Security Sales organization. In this capacity, he was recognized as a channel chief by CRN and received the CRN Channel Chief Award for two consecutive years for his exceptional work with partners and customers in advancing comprehensive cybersecurity policies. In 2020, he served as the director and head of Cisco Global Security Sales Partner Organization in an interim capacity. Between 2016 and 2020, Mr. Lento was the director of the global security sales partner organization at Cisco in the Greater New York City Area, where he led sales leadership, cloud operations, strategy, and planning initiatives. Prior to this role, from 2013 to 2016, he was a director in Global Enterprise responsible for partners, virtual sales and software sales.
Mr. Lento's tenure with Cisco began in 1999 when he joined as a global sales manager in New York and later advanced to become a global client director from 2005 to 2013. Before his extensive career at Cisco, Mr. Lento served as a sales director at Verizon from 1989 to 1999. During this period, he worked in the World Trade Center and was lauded by customers for his responsiveness and dedication through articles published in company newspapers.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Lento has pursued academic excellence that has significantly contributed to his career success. He is currently working toward a Doctorate in Business Administration, with a focus on management and operations, at the University of Tampa. He previously earned an Executive Master of Business Administration in management and operations from Long Island University in 1998, and a Bachelor of Science from the New York Institute of Technology in 1984.
Mr. Lento attributes much of his success to the influence of his parents, who served as his role models and encouraged him along his career journey with strong support from his wife, Diane.
